When was the last time you genuinely spent time with your family? Not because of a holiday, wedding, or funeral but just because? When is the last time you took the time to really learn about your family's history? When was the last time you surprised a family member with a just-because gift? When was the last time you told a loved one that you love them? When was the last time you told someone in your support system "thank you"?

Most times we can take people for granted until they are no longer available. Family is important because it's one of the few things in our lives that we don't choose from God. It's important to cherish the family that we do have before it's taken away from us. I speak from the experience of losing so many family members over the years and wish I cherished more of the moments we shared. Family assists us in discovering who we genuinely are deep down. Whether it is generational traits that we want to improve or traits that we would like to hold on to. Every part of us is important. No matter what you may feel about your family, there is something we can learn from each family member to help us discover our Divine purpose.
